Your Water Safety Questions Answered Before You Book
Paqua Park is designed with safety in mind from the moment you arrive. Every session at the inflatable obstacle course on Lake Pleasant begins with a mandatory lifeguard-led safety briefing, life jackets are required and provided for all participants, and clear age and height requirements are in place to make sure every child on the course is ready for the experience.
What Are the Age and Height Requirements at Paqua Park?
To get on the course, participants must be at least 7 years old and 45 inches tall. If your child is right at the height minimum, having an adult accompany them on the course is strongly recommended. Some of the climbing steps can be tricky for smaller kids, and having a familiar face nearby helps.
Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian to sign the waiver before getting in the water. You can do this online before you arrive, which saves time at check-in.
Does My Child Need to Know How to Swim?
Yes. Knowing how to swim is a requirement for all participants, regardless of age. While life jackets are provided and required for everyone on the course, the water at Lake Pleasant is deep and Paqua Park takes this seriously. If your child is not yet a confident swimmer, it is worth waiting until they are before booking.
How Does the Safety Briefing Work?
Before every session, all participants attend a quick safety briefing led by one of Paqua Park’s lifeguards. It covers what to expect on the course, how to stay safe in the water and the rules everyone needs to follow. The briefing is short but required — no one gets on the course without attending first. If you book more than one session, you will attend the briefing again before each one.
This built-in structure is one of the things that sets Paqua Park apart as a family-friendly experience.
What Should Kids Wear to Paqua Park?
Swimwear and a towel are all they really need to bring. For footwear, socks are the only thing allowed on the course. No Crocs, water shoes or sneakers. You can grab a pair at the park if you forget. Leave valuables in the car when possible. There are cubbies available on the dock for non-high value items, but for anything worth keeping safe, the car is the better bet.
Plan to arrive 30 minutes before your session to check in, get life jackets fitted and attend the briefing. Sessions start on time.
Where Is Paqua Park Located?
Paqua Park is located at Scorpion Bay Marina inside Lake Pleasant Regional Park at 10970 Peninsula Blvd, Peoria, AZ 85345. Maricopa County charges a $10 per car entry fee at the gate. On summer weekends the line can build up, so give yourself extra time on the drive over.

What if my child is nervous on the course?
